Everyone remembers her iconic taekwondo performance in the St. Augustine talent show back in fourth grade. Not only did she showcase epic fighting moves, she broke a board with her foot! Was it karate kid? No! It was Abby Ulbrich!

One of Abby’s core memories is when she was surprised to find many classmates swarming her and asking for autographs after her incredible talent show performance. After she broke a board on stage, all of the kids wanted a piece of it signed by her. She didn’t realize people would find it so interesting. This is what started Abby’s love of trying new things.
Abby is one busy bee! When she was younger, she did taekwondo, sailing, and tennis. In more recent years, she’s been skiing, running track, cross country, playing soccer, and volleyball for Hackett. In this mix of activity, she noticed that people admire when other people do different things. She has always been open to experimenting and expanding her horizons.
This is what makes the next four years so exciting for Abby. Like many in her family, she plans on attending college at Michigan State University. She plans to join three sports or club organizations. As of now, she is interested in joining the pickleball club, doing pilates, and continuing skiing, which she has done all four years at Hackett.
She will be studying human biology on the pre med track with the hope of becoming a radiologist. Last year, she dissected a cat in anatomy class and found her potential to pursue a career in the medical field. She also liked looking at pictures of broken bones and identifying them in class. When she became interested in reading the images, she found a passion for radiology.
Beyond her career goals, she also dreams of living in Europe for a couple of years. She is interested in experiencing the different ways people live and of course, continuing to try new things. Fueled by curiosity, Abby is excited to explore what her future holds.
