Meet one of the most dynamic and energetic students walking the halls Jude Coffman. Jude is an athlete, brother, businessman, and the kind of guy you want to bring with you on a double date. Born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 16, 2007, he’s been bringing a competitive edge to everything Jude does since day one. Whether it’s sports, school, or even family game night, he brings the same intensity and drive to win.

Growing up with three siblings — two brothers and a sister — life at home was never quiet. “It’s always been competitive,” Jude says. “We push each other to be better, and that’s just how my family is. It’s either feast or famine.” Game night at the Coffmans is always intense and that mindset has translated into a strong work ethic and a natural leadership presence on and off the court.
After starting his education at St. Monica, Jude transferred to St. A for 7th and 8th grade, where he continued to build his academic and athletic foundation. Today, he’s actively involved in a wide range of school activities: from basketball, track, tennis, and even baseball after track. Leadership roles in SLT and NHS — he’s everywhere, doing everything.

Outside of school, he balances work and passion with ease. Previously, you could catch Jude scooping you ice cream at Cold Stone. Now he referees basketball at the Y, and teaches younger kids how to play the game he loves — a full-circle moment for someone who’s grown up with a ball in his hands. And when summer hits? You’ll find him lifting weights, hooping outside, or out on the lake with his boat, with his boys, and good vibes all around.
His future plans are just as bold as his personality. He’s aiming for a career in business — most likely accounting or finance — with the dream of running his own company one day. “I don’t love studying, but I’ll dive into anything that helps me get better,” he says, even though he doesn’t enjoy studying, you can occasionally see Jude studying MSU basketball film during class.

His role models say a lot about him, he looks up his grandma as his biggest influence. “She’s taught me the most about life and how to carry myself.” Along with his grandma, Jude looks up to star basketball player Hailey Van Lith. Her athleticism, confidence, and way she moves up and down the court has Jude in awe. When it comes to friends, he surrounds himself with people who are spontaneous, athletic, and know how to have a good time — just like him.
Where does he see himself in the future? “Living on a lake in Michigan in the summer and a house in Florida in the winter,” he says confidently. “That’s the dream.”
