Bridget Shea recalls a hardship she experienced in the past, “When I was little, I had a bad speech impediment, so I went to a speech pathologist and the experience was really helpful.”

Besides helping her with her speech, Bridget’s speech pathologist helped her decide on her plans for the future. Inspired by the effectiveness of her treatment, Bridget plans to become a speech pathologist and help little kids who share a similar struggle. To achieve this goal, she will be attending GVSU in the coming fall.
But for now Bridget is looking forward to her summer, when she will be taking a few anticipated vacations. She will be going on her big senior trip to Switzerland and will be taking a second trip to Florida, where she will visit her grandma and her aunt. Besides a personal and family-oriented trip, she will also be going down to Tennessee to camp with some of her friends.
Bridget grew up camping with her family, who she is very close with. She values the camping trips she took up north with them, which occurred more often when she was younger. While she may have some excellent memories, family, and friends in Michigan, she plans to live in Florida, and will transfer to a college there after a couple years at GVSU.
Even though she will be leaving her cat, Charlie, and her horse, Bentley, behind, Bridget is ready for the future. As a patient, adaptable, and easy-going person, Bridget will make an excellent speech pathologist and Florida resident.
