Chris Ogrin is the perfect blend of talent, hard work, and a relaxed attitude. Whether on the tennis court, golf green, or behind the lens of a camera, Chris has made a name for himself through his dedication and passion.
Outside of school, Chris has built his own photography business, a passion that began when he picked up his mothers old camera and snapped photos at a regional soccer game. What started as a hobby quickly grew as friends involved in sports helped him gain recognition. Now, he’s capturing moments at various events, turning his passion into a professional venture.
In addition to photography, Chris is deeply involved in sports. He’s earned All-State honors in both tennis and golf, balancing his athletic pursuits with leadership in DECA, where he won district competitions and advanced to states. His love for competition isn’t limited to sports. Chris also enjoys playing video games like Rocket League, FIFA, and Fortnite with friends, always bringing that same competitive spirit that he brings to his athletics.
Outside of all his hobbies, Chris works at the United States Tennis Association (USTA), where he helps set up and run tournaments, and spends his weekends caddying at Kalamazoo Country Club. His work ethic is evident, juggling multiple jobs while maintaining top-notch performances in school and sports.
With an intended major in Business Administration which he will pursue at University of Michigan, Chris is leaning toward a future in accounting or a related field. He’s unsure of exactly what he wants to do, but he’s committed to exploring opportunities to find the right fit. Above all, he hopes to build a career that offers both success and fun—just like his parents, whom he admires deeply. His mom owns a human resources company, and his dad is the CEO of a different company, both showing the same drive and dedication that rubbed off on Chris.
Chris himself said he’s “pretty caring” and “nonchalant.” His friend Christian Ynclan echoes that sentiment. Chris’s nonchalant demeanor, combined with his strong work ethic, makes him a respected and admirable figure among his peers.
