Sac Cross Country

Thursday was an excellent day for cross country teams! 8 of 19 runners got all conference or all conference honorable mention. On the boys side Marek Butkiewicz got all conference and took home the first place finish with a time of (15:47.12) and Sean Siems took fourth place getting awarded all conference with a time of (16:32.45). Other highlights on the boys side were Kellen Siems who got awarded honorable mention all conference with a time of (18:22.87) along with Alex Dumont who got awarded honorable mention all conference with a time of (18:27.97). The boys finished 3rd overall as a team after competing really hard and fighting till the last step. 

Four girls were awarded the all conference or all conference honorable mention. The highlights for the girls were Emma Riker who got 3rd overall and awarded all conference with a time (19:46.10) Along with Emma, Abby Ulbrich and Kate Van Es were awarded all conference with Abby running a time of (21:29.28) and Kate running a time of (21:34.00). The all conference honorable mention was awarded to Delany Mcbride with a personal Record of (21:58.78)! The girls had an excellent day even though they were missing their 2nd top runner Brie Siems who was out with a leg injury. They got 4th overall, unfortunately losing to Bridgmon, their top rival.

The cross country team will be back in action on Saturday, October 19th at Kalamazoo Christian Elementary for the comet invitational. Go support your Irish and wish them the best of luck!
