Promising Prospects: Girls Volleyball

Hackett Volleyball is coming back strong after a rough couple of years. For the past two seasons, they barely had enough girls to make separate JV and Varsity teams. This year proves to be quite the opposite, as many girls came out, making a Freshman, JV, and Varsity team. Elsie Copp, a current senior, said,

“I think we have a lot of talent on the team, as long as we work together we’ll be good.” 

The team’s dynamic is better than it has been in years. One of the new players, Lucy Young, said,

“I think we’re gonna do really well because we played amazing at Loy Norrix. The team is really chill, and we get along really well. We play well together.”

The girls Varsity team won in three sets against Hartford on August 26. After the game, Coach Burhans said,

“I think they played together as a team, we saw some things we need to work on for our next game, but I see this team going far.”
