For You and Your Boo
When it comes to dates at the cinema, it's the movie more than the company that makes or breaks the evening. If you’re looking to woo your boo in theaters, you may want to consider some hot upcoming releases.
Hollywood is trying to switch it up this year and has broken away from traditional romcoms. Horror and romance are melting together this year in two upcoming films. Both being released on February 7th, Love Hurts (rated R) and Heart Eyes (rated R) will be competing for the best Valentine's Day themed movie of this year.
Yet, they may be overtaken by Captain America: Brave New World (rated PG-13), which releases on Valentine’s Day. Marvel fans might just pass by the lovebirds, making for a more action-packed holiday than movie fans expected.
People who want to pass on the horror and the action should consider scrolling through Netflix. There, they could enjoy more classic romances like To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (rated PG-13), as well as the two accompanying sequels. If you’re looking for something more mature, you might want to take a look at Mr. and Mrs. Smith (rated PG-13) or Purple Hearts (rated PG-13).
Looking for something dramatic and critically acclaimed? You should watch The Notebook (rated PG-13), a classic romance movie which rivals Titanic (rated PG-13). But if something modern is more your speed, you should take a look at 10 Things I Hate About You (rated PG-13), which is popular with the ladies. On theme with 10, but with a slightly older cast is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (Rated PG-13), which was made popular for the classic yellow dress worn by Kate Hudson and the winning smile of Matthew McConaughey.
Even if you can’t rely on having a Valentine, you can rely on some of the current romance-related movies of our time. If a boo isn’t in the cards for you, you could always grab some friends, popcorn, and have a good time anyway.
