Cheer Up! It’s Football Season!

 Let’s-get-a-little-bit-rowdy! With the 2024 Football season kicking off, what better way to show our support to the United Football team than with the United Cheer team. Though their season has had a late start due to new leadership, they are launching the season with spirit!

The Hackett community would like to introduce Sydney Stilson as the new cheer coach. Coach Sydney started cheer when she was in 4th grade and continued to do so for 11 years. After graduating from Kalamazoo Christian High School, she went to Spring Arbor University where she continued her cheerleading career. She has high hopes for this year's cheerleaders, saying,

“ I am expecting them to do the best they can while fostering a friendship with each other”.

We are blessed to have her as part of the Hackett coaching staff and will continue to see the improvement the girls will make with her.

With the start of the season, they have been busy in their practices preparing for the upcoming games.Their busy schedules include practice 4 days a week for 2 hours, in which they learn cheers, practice stunts, tumble, and condition. Bella Basler, a junior and first time fall cheerleader, says she is

“most excited about the stunts”.

The cheerleaders will attend every football game, home and away, bringing the United spirit with them. Roxanne Anderson, a fourth-year cheerleader, says

“My favorite part about cheering at football games is being able to encourage the team to a victory”.

Although they tragically won’t be bringing Irish Beat with them, they will have lots of fun and catchy cheers that the United crowd knows and loves. Unfortunately, they will not make it to the first game of the season on August 29, but they still encourage everyone to go and show their support to the team. Their season debut will be on September 6th in Otsego. Come join the fun and cheer on the United Titans!
